We all went to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the local theatre which included Neil and Christine Hamilton amongst the cast she as the Fairy Battleaxe and he as the local nobleman. It was really good fun quite traditional with all the elements the pantomimes are meant to have. I cant remember the last time I went to one. James said that he was surprised that the audience were so drunk. I cant say that I was.

I read about the complex relationship between Clement Greenberg and Jackson Pollock. CG had a grand theory of what art ought to be like and he picked P to exemplify this theory even though in reality P wasnt a perfect case. He stuck with Pollock and consistently promoted him as the greatest of modern artists and was a major factor in Pollock getting recognised. The CG-JP axis became an entity on the artscene and later artists and critics reacted to it as such without properly understanding what Pollock might really be up to the understanding was bocked by a failure to get past a theory which didnt fit that well anyway..
