On the lower widget there is a new tune - Rosie Dining at Epsom. Also a new tune on the upper widget - Fiji's Confident Speaking Clock.

I am having an active week. On Wednesday I met up with Pete in the Strongarm in Shoreditch. The whole area was buzzing. Sophie J played a fantastic set with bass and gtr - better even than the Where EP. Pete was impressed too. I want to catch SJ again soon while she is on form like this.

Yesterday evening I met Bette at the ROH for Britten's Canticles - we were in the 2nd row in the new underground theatre. Ian Bosridge was brilliant and it was a great pleasure to be so close. The piano accompaniment was spot on as well. The programme developed the theme that 1 is about male love, 2 and 3 are about male violence, 4 is about the start of reconciliation - but where does 5 leave us? Britten wrote it near the end of his life using another TSE poem.

Listening to Walking Wounded - remembering how much I like this album.
