I drove my sister from Gfd to Heston on Sunday evening. She has just bought a new car and was returning James AX which she has borrowed while he is in Italy. The M25 was congested and she directed me on a route I didnt know through Laleham and Ashford. We got to talking about a friend of hers who had bought what seemed to be a Victorian house in the area but it actually contained a Medieval long house. He had been a conscientious objector (apparently he sympathised with the Germans) and then he had become a book-dealer. As you might imagine they were rather specialised books eg Madame Blavatsky and so on. (Actually Madame B influenced Mondrian) We went onto the early history of J Page. She has tracked down 3 Pages on the electoral role put together some time in the 40s, The link is that Page acquired the Crowley diaries from Tom Driberg at the time that my sisters chum was dealing. As a local historian she was interested in my discovery that the Yardbirds had played Osterley in 1964, This isnt because she likes the music although she knows about where Hendrix played in the area than I do.

A while ago I bought a tape of Richard Long the sculptor talking about his work. I played some it yesterday. I can see that its likely to get plundered before long.

I spent some time yesterday thinking about chord progressions where there are 4 note chords and the minor third in one chord shifts a half step Say Bo G6 Eo Bbm7. Played them through on the flute and looked at some flute solos that were in my repertoire about 10 years ago.

In the Independent today at last living up to its name A W Smith predicts that Blairs next move has to be towards Europe.

There a maintenance visit coming up on my flat I need to tidy it up for that

I printed out the 6000 word piece on the Sixties and thought it over a bit added a few more quotations eg Davy Graham on Graham Bond.
