This is the kinkos off Broadway on 72nd - our hotel is about five blocks north. Hall and Oates had a gig last night about half way between here and there. I missed it - but it makes the point about sticking a pin in the map anywhere here and finding something.

We got here about 1.00pm local time. The weather was riduculous - snow on the ground and torrential rain. After a meal in the diner opposite we swam into a yellow cab and went to the Met Art Museum which was warm and dry and looked out onto the snow in Central Park. What can I sau?

The large 1950 black and while Pollock, the last Warhol self portrait, a room full of Picassos, some Jackies, a 1946 de Kooning woman, early middle and late Rothkos. 4 Judd boxes in line, some increible late Albers - the man from the Bauhaus who ran Black Mountain and taught Rauschenberg, a hear breaking white Ameican flag by Johns. More Monets and Rembrandts than you bet in the National Gallery. Vita seems to have gone for the impressionists, James for the 18C and 19C indigenous art.

There was a sale in Virgin in Heathrow so I go some 1978 Kraftwek, the Soul2Soul singles amd Massive Attack. Its kind of before and after Detroit music. The Kraftwerk is astonishing.
