Back to Guildford - fast journey time. I realize that I have really done next to nothing for Worlds AIDS Day. I suppose the excuse is that the Cleveland Concert was a kind of warm-up and at least I have a platform tomorrow when I lead the intercessions.

I have started by posting some new material on www.kwase-kwaza.org in the News Section. This includes stuff about a potentially important joint commitment co-ordinated by T Blair to make affordable medicines available globally. It says something that you have to put time and effort into agreeing fundamental principles that where there is need and remedy for that need then its a good idea to put the remedy within the means of the people suffering. Anyway its a start.

There is also some vox-pop material gathered by the BBC on views from round the world on whether the response to HIV/AIDS has been sufficient no prizes for guessing the answer but the important point is the nature and extent of the perception.

There is also a powerful statement from AMNESTY about the relationship between HIV/AIDS and human rights again no prizes for guessing the answer but again the key point is that the linkages (which are fundamental) are spelled out.

Today is the day that Lynne and her team are holding a big event in her area in South Africa to raise awareness of the responsibilities of men in tackling the epidemic. Lets hope it goes well the more you realise whats going on round the world the more you realise that she and her team are at the leading edge. The stuff they work out in terms of practical what to do and how to do it should be transferred within days to places like Mexico and India and the Caribbean.

I got a mail from Tony Reif in Vancouver talking about releasing CDs with 5 Channel sound.

Yvonne ran over someones cat in the dark last night and was really upset about it. James is fretting about not having heard from Cambridge and LSE. Vita is working like crazy. My brother inlaw has been forced to resign by his newish boss this is so crazy its hard to explain.

I am refelecting on the need for a new role for the internal audit in automotive industries. Its what I am paid to do (I think). We met some people from the Defence Logistic Organisation yesterday it was a kind of goodwill exercise in sharing our experience. There was a squadron-leader and some army-office. Very mush ESTJ but quite stimulating and great manners.
